Housing

Dogs like to be their near their "pack" which means staying indoors together with the family for the most part of the day. However, it is also necessary to provide a warm, sturdy and dry kennel for your dog for the times when he needs to stay outside. Make sure that the kennel is located near family activity and is placed in an area that is well sheltered from the elements.

Ensure that the dog has a blanket during cold weather and a ready supply of drinking water if he needs to be kept outdoors for an extended period of time but never keep him caged for long periods.

When your dog is indoors, he should be given a place where he can call his own. A comfortable dog bed or cane basket with a pillow, his toys and a blanket will be sufficient.
