Medical Care - Visiting The Vet

Your vet is the best friend to your dog's health. You should consult your vet whenever your pet is not feelng well. Don't ignore symptoms such as tiredness, loss of appetite or diarrhoea as these may be a sign of more serious illnesses and visit the vet as soon as possible. A yearly visit to the vet to vaccinate your pet against contagious canine diseases is also required.

In addition, unless you intend to become a professional breeder, it is highly advisable to spay or neuter your dog. Neutering a male dog will prevent testicular cancer and prostate problems. It will also very much reduce the male dog's tendency to stray outside and be in danger of being hit by cars or getting into nasty fights with other dogs. It will also reduce the chance of contracting ovarian or uterine diseases in your female dog.
